A Brief History of the Credit Union

Priority One Credit Union stands on a busy tree-lined street in the beautiful city of South Pasadena, California. Founded in 1926 by a group of United States Postal Service ("USPS") carriers, the credit union was intended to provide financial services to employees of the USPS who might not otherwise qualify for products and services offered by traditional banks. From its start, Priority One's goal was to improve the financial livelihoods of its members.

Over the years, the credit union underwent many changes including, changing its name from the Postal Credit Union of Los Angeles to Priority One Credit Union and in recent years, adopting the tagline, "You are Our First Priority."

As the demographics within the postal service changed, so did those of the credit union and with those changes, Priority One developed strategies to reach its diverse marketplaces.

During the 1990's and under President, William E. Harris, the credit union experienced its most dramatic changes. Mr. Harris orchestrated carefully planned mergers which expanded the credit union's territories and added branch locations. Charters were obtained which allowed the credit union to offer membership to families of employees of the USPS and later, to families of families of employees of the USPS. By 2002, the credit union had expanded to the furthest reaches of the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. Through Select Employer Group development, the credit union increased its sources of income.

Priority One can attribute its success to the sound business practices of former President, William e. Harris, and the unwavering loyalty of its members and in particular, the employees of the USPS who remained loyal to the credit union during good and difficult economic periods.

The credit union which thrived under President Harris would find its cycle of growth brought to an abrupt stop after Charles R. Wiggington, Sr. was appointed President on January 1, 2007.

It began having a pocket watch that encompassed two time zones and it has soared to new heights using its touch-screen technology.
This technician will know the proper way to make the repairs
and clean the watch, and following the overhaul is complete, they
will be able to re-test the lake resistance of the timepiece.

The piece itself and the way it is powered will be an element.
